My name is Edgar Henderson and I am running for President of the United States of America in 2004.
I am a regular guy with no ties to any large business or political parties. I even owe a lot of money to creditors and to New York State for old student loans. I'm late filing my taxes. In other words, I am you and, I am your candidate.
The last few years have seen many negative changes in the tone, attitude and political posture of the United States Government. We live in a country that is ruled by a few powerful elite businessmen who manipulate the sentiments of their own countrymen and show a lack of respect for the United Nations.
Some of the issues that I want to raise in the run towards 2004 are:
- Extending civil rights and liberties to the detainees in Guantanimo Bay and other non-citizens and citizens suspected of terrorism or crimes against The United States.
- Having the United Nations monitor and validate the 2004 Presidential election.
- Federalizing corporate charters, and passing new federal laws to prosecute corporations as criminal entities themselves.
- Extending environmental and wage laws for United States corporations operating in other countries.
- Granting Homosexuals full access to society, like the right to marry, or serve in the military.
- A national debate on the direction and use and authority of the Homeland Security Agency.
These are but the tip of the iceberg of new political and moral challenges that are being thrown upon us as a Nation.
We can no longer deny that we as individual citizens have no place in politics.
We can no longer deny that We the Citizens have the power to change this Country.
We cannot just accept the limited choices presented by the major parties choices any more.
That’s why if 18% of you vote for me, I’ll win!
